Old Sentries of the Bluff

Oil on gesso board 6 in. x 6 in. x 1/4 in Sold $125.00 USD

A fellow painter and I went out to paint and social distance at a place called Table Bluff.  It was a quiet, foggy moring and I was totally drawn to the old cypress trees and the high, grasses, soft and fluffy beneath the trees.  In the past, there was a lighthouse and during WWII the Bluff became a "coast guard" station for guarding the coast against Japanese invasion.  After that, a religious group acquired it and had a settlement or community there.  Now it is a nice park that overlooks the Eel River delta to the South, and Humbolt Bay to the North.   These old trees have witnessed it all in quiet harmony.  It is easy to draw on that "pacific" energy during these unsure times.
